Our mission is to create high quality truly natural cosmetic products that your skin and hair will love and to do so in a way which is both sustainable and ethical. Simply put, to us this means treating people, animals and the planet with kindness and respect. This is the driving principle behind our business and influences the products we make, the ingredients we use, the relationships with our customers and suppliers, the packaging we use and the many choices we make in the day to day running of our business.
How are our values embedded in our business?
Kind to People

our products are organic or predominantly organic, made from ingredients that are grown without the use of GMOs, synthetic fertilisers and herbicides thus reducing the number of chemicals that end up on the skin and get absorbed by the skin into the body.

everything you will find in our products, except for the clays, salt and pumice stone in some of our soaps, comes directly from plants with minimal processing.
our products are made predominantly from plant oils and butters and contain only natural ingredients* and we never use artificial colours or fragrances, petro-chemicals, synthetic foaming agents & detergents, or preservatives which can damage the environment. This applies to the sourcing of our palm oil and we have recently become a Brand Partner of Palm Done Right - an organisation which supports farmers in Ecuador to transition to sustainable, organic palm production, The oil is certified Organic, Fair trade and Sustainable at the highest level (Identity Preserved) which means it is not mixed with non sustainable oil and is fully traceable back to the growers in Ecuador. The farmers and producers are treated and paid fairly for their oil, communities are supported and empowered and the environment and the wildlife are protected by the use of organic farming practices and a No Deforestation policy.
our cosmetic products are all biodegradable.
Our product packaging is predominantly compostable / recyclable and we run a return scheme for our glass bottles and jars.

In 2021 we signed up to the SME Climate Commitment and have pledged to cut our carbon emissions in half by 2030 and to reach ‘net zero’ by 2050. Actually, this date is too far away and so we are planning to do it long before then! We have already made some changes but still have a lot to learn and are undertaking training about how to do it. We will keep you updated!
*we use sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) which is an essential ingredient in the soapmaking process. When sodium hydroxide is added to oils a chemical reaction takes place called saponification. The result of this process is gorgeous soap with none of the sodium hydroxide remaining in the finished product. This is why it does not appear in the soap ingredients lists. See our How it's Made page for more information.
