Crafted with Care: How We Make Our Natural Soap

Have you ever wondered what goes into making a truly natural bar of soap?

Every single bar, cream, and skincare product we offer is handcrafted from scratch right here in our workshop using 100% plant-based ingredients. We rely on the traditional cold process method—a slow, thoughtful technique that turns pure oils into deeply nourishing soap.

       

Here is how a new soap variety goes from a simple idea to a bar on your soap dish:

Step 1: Inspiration & Scents

Every recipe starts with an idea—often inspired by your requests! We blend pure essential oils until we create a fragrance we both absolutely love.

Step 2: Formulating the Recipe

Just like fine baking, precision is everything. We carefully work out our recipe and measure our plant oils and rich botanical butter bases down to the exact gram and temperature.

Step 3: The Saponification Magic

Haluk melts the oils and introduces a lye (sodium hydroxide) solution to trigger saponification—the natural chemical process that transforms oil into soap. By the end of the process, no lye remains—just pure, gentle soap. At this stage, we fold in natural clays, herbs, seeds, and essential oils for colour, texture and therapeutic benefits.

Step 4: Pouring & Insulation

The fresh soap is poured into hand made wooden moulds, wrapped in warm blankets, and tucked away in an insulated cupboard to set. 

Step 5: The 4-Week Cure

After 48 hours, the soap is unmoulded, sliced into logs, and left in a warm room to cure for a minimum of four weeks.

Step 6: Testing & Safety

Once cured, comes the moment of truth! We test every batch ourselves and share it with friends and family. Once a formula meets our highest standards, it is submitted to a chartered chemist for official safety certification.

Step 7: Ready for You

With safety certificates in hand, we create larger batches to share with you.

It is a slow process, but slicing into a fresh log of cured soap - revealing the rich inner color and bursting aroma - makes every week worth the wait.

Our Soaps: Pure, Creamy & Consciously Sourced

We formulate our base with a rich combination of Organic Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Unrefined Organic Shea Butter, and Fair Trade Organic Palm Oil. This creates a luxurious, velvety lather that leaves skin clean, soft, and deeply moisturised and never feeliing stripped of oils and dry.

Clean & Pure: We never use synthetic fragrances, artificial dyes, petrochemicals, preservatives, or harsh detergents. Everything you see and smell comes straight from plants, herbs, clays, and pure essential oils.

70%+ Organic: Excluding water, over 70% of every bar is made from certified organic ingredients, including nourishing additions like Organic Argan, Hemp, Cocoa Butter, and Castor oils.

Ethical Palm Oil: Protecting natural habitats, wildlife, and local farmers is central to everything we do. We are proud Brand Partners of Palm Done Right. This means our palm oil is 100% certified organic, fair trade, fully traceable to Ecuador, and produced under strict No-Deforestation practices.
